Whirr, zoom, snap......Whirr, zoom, snap.....

This was one of the coolest moment of this project: building and installing a camera on MARCO. The idea is to have a camera that snaps a photo every 10minutes. Because we did not have waterproof case for the camera module, we used a tiny box, cut a hole through it and made it waterproof. As you can see below, it is installed with other sensor in box #2. The box, which contains all the sensors and the camera, is waterproof and it uses a gland connector to waterproof connections.

After all, it has been working well, and has been taking a photo every 10 minutes. This(below) is what it looks like when we recover the pictures from the flashdrive. It goes "Month+Day+UTC Time" for folders and "UTC Time+Min+Second" for photos. I remind you that MARCO uses UTC Time.

Getting dark

Just from these four pictures, we can actually see the sun set and get dark. You might be wondering why MARCO was not moving, taking pictures from the same location, or

Morning

It was interesting to see how it went from completely dark to little light in only 10 minutes. Lastly, as you can see, the transparent box was frozen but I think we can use a spray to prevent it from freezing.

Melting

According to our other sensor, MARCO started charging a bit at around 10AM in the morning. It makes sense because, as you can see below, the camera started getting clear. It took about an hour to melt and get clear to see.

Gallery below shows 6 photos(in order and all EST converted): 10:00:58AM, 10:10:01AM, 10:20:00AM, 10:30:01AM, 10:40:01AM, and 10:50:25AM.

Lastly, I am delighted and feel honored that MARCO took a photo of me watching it before we picked it up.
